Electric Myographic Studies

Dear Patients,

Happy Holidays! My staff and I would like to wish you and yours a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. May the spirit of the holidays bring joy and happiness to you and your family.

Over the last 26 years I have had the privilege of studying under some of the most respected authorities in the dental field. Recently TOI held an educational seminar here in Cleveland where Dr. Skip Truitt and Dr. Ralph Garcia presented the latest research in TMD. One of the most interesting facts presented was the result of the EMG (electric myographic) studies done by Dr. Garcia. The results of the study demonstrated passive muscle activity in patients who had successfully completed TMD therapy versus hyperactivity in the muscles of the patients that were untreated. These studies lend credibility to our treatment protocols, and further explain why patients that are "off the disc" grind, brux, or clench their teeth.

Should you or someone you live have TMJ problems please contact our office for a complimentary consultation.

Merry Christmas,

Michael W. Dagostino, DDS
